Donna Corrie is a self-driven leader and visionary, sharing her life skills through programs and events designed to uplift and empower individuals.
Dee’s Deportment, Grooming and Self Care “Changes Lives and Instil Confidence with a Holistic Health Approach”.
In June 2014, Dee’s Deportment, Grooming and Self Care was established with an aim to bring individuals to the forefront and be seen in positions of influence. Our establishment became the first Indigenous owned business in the fashion and beauty sector who primarily focus on instilling confidence, building lives and utilising real life experiences to build individuals through a holistic health approach.
"Adding to our repertoire, we have a unique presence in the Cairns Region hosting annual signature events which showcases and elevates cultural dance groups, small local businesses and Indigenous fashion designers in a 5 star environment. This initiative has taken young Aboriginal Youth from busking in the streets of Cairns, to performing on the catwalk at annual 5 Star Events, for the Royal Navy (HMAS Cairns) biannual Navy Indigenous Development Program Graduations and other prestigious events".
Health and Lifestyle
Donna Corrie, Owner and Director of Dee's Deportment Grooming and Self Care, lives and promotes personal fitness through a range of programs designed to educate children, youths, women, families and disadvantaged groups about wellbeing and meaningful lifestyle changes. With a passion and desire to empower women of all ages, and strengthen families through a fun exercise regime, Donna provides customised workouts to suit everyone's individual needs.
Empowering Programs
Self Care starts with inner confidence and inner strength. Our programs are designed to allow an individual to develop their own self worth and inner spirit by listening to them, providing experiences and opportunities to help them feel fabulous, and supporting them every step of the way with a positive spirit.
Our customised pampering sessions for women of all ages and backgrounds has them smiling, interacting and enjoying the splendour of the program with our team. Our passion is to nurture you and have you feeling relaxed, uplifted and like a new person.
Modelling School and Coaching
More than just a catwalk program. Our workshops combine personal grooming with employment etiquette, social etiquette and fitness components for transitioning into career advancement opportunities, higher education or lifechanging moments. With the aim of preparing young people for life's next steps, our team collaborate with industry professionals to help a young person reach their full potential and achieve their goals. When on the catwalk, we showcase productivity, dignity, culture, inclusion, inner beauty and intellectual sophistication, which results to an individual feeling radiant and beautiful holistically. Our modelling program extends beyond stepping up to the catwalk or posing in front of the camera. It promotes personal growth and development for females and males of all walks of life, emphasising on cultural respect, inclusion and self dignity.
Signature Events
In 2017, Dee's Deportment, Grooming and Self Care introduced a 5 Star NAIDOC Gala Event which was a sell out event at the Pullman International Hotel in Cairns.
In 2019, Dee's Deportment, Grooming and Self Care partnered with the Shangri-la Hotel The Marina to host 5 Star NAIDOC Gala Dinners.
Our annual Gala Events promotes and supports local businesses, cultural dance groups (Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, African, Latino, Arakanese, PNG, etc), multi-culturalism, communities and disadvantaged groups. As we passionately and respectfully promote our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures on the catwalk at our annual Gala Events, people of all walks of life from across the region, state-wide and nationally come together to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, customs, tradition, dance and music in a friendly, welcoming and relaxing environment.
Our annual signature Gala Events have attracted dignitaries including Queensland State Labor Senators (2017-2022), local Cairns Regional Council Mayor, Mayoress and Councillors, Federal and State Members of Parliament, the Minister for Seniors, Disability Services and Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, HMAS Navy Commanding Officers, Department of Defence Recruiting, and other Dignitaries.
Other Gala Events delivered also include a New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball and Youth Ball.
In 2025, Dee's Deportment, Grooming and Self Care hosted their final Signature NAIDOC Gala Dinner at the Pullman Cairns International Hotel, Cairns.
After seven rewarding and successful years of hosting NAIDOC Gala High Teas and Gala Dinners at 5 star venues, it's now time to move forward and start designing our next Signature Gala Events.
We sincerely thank the Cairns Region, Custodians and local Businesses for their support over the years and leave our platform hosting NAIDOC Gala Dinners with gratitude.
Lastly, we acknowledge and thank others for continuing our legacy by continuing to host NAIDOC Gala Dinners in Cairns and across Far North Queensland.
